Sunburn On the 20th July, 2025, WOAC will be hosting a Charity “Sunburn” Tournament and BBQ with our Friends from Archers of Raunds. Frostbites are common in Winter, this Tournament will be similar in format, but, in the heat of Mid-July. We have defined the Sunburn as 30 arrows – but it will probably be 36 – shot in 3 arrow ends at a distance of 30m on an 80cm target face with 10 zone scoring and X’s used to separate equal total scores.
We have received 31 Entries, 13 from Archers of Raunds, 18 are from WOAC. 18 Archers are 50+, 10 Seniors & 3 Juniors. 16 Archers are Recurve, 2 Compound, 2 Longbow & 11 Barebow.
Awards will be given based upon Factored results for both Single & Double Rounds, for Sighted bows, UnSighted bows and also a Sunburn Champion-of-Champions across all AGB Categories. At the end of the day, the Sunburn heat will be turned up for all fans of Merida in the film Brave. After the Sunburn Round shooting, there will be a Single Arrow, nearest the spider contest. We will be making the rules up as we go along, based upon what happens. Food requests have included 18 Burger Baps, 8 Sausage Baps, 3 Veggie Baps and 4 people whose bodies are temples and have declined Baps. This is a Charity event on behalf of a very worthy cause and as of today, our Sunburn will have raised £525 for Shannon’s treatment in The Netherlands.
