Offering all year round shooting venues with our dedicated fields at Old Grammarians and during the winter season we shoot indoors at Wollaston School, Irchester Road, Wollaston.

We run beginners courses that provide a safe environment to practice this rewarding and challenging sport with our experienced coaches on hand.

Our ranges are universally accessible and wheelchair friendly with good access from the car park. We cater for all abilities, genders, disabilities and ages. We have all the equipment required for you to take part, contact us for the next available course dates.

Competitions

WOAC has held an annual outdoor competition since 1956, which has, on occasions, attracted up to 100 archers from novices to national champions. Since 1989 an annual indoor competition has been held and from 2008 an additional indoor competition has been added in remembrance of former club members. Each year we can host anywhere from 8 to 15 competitions and scored rounds.

Open

The word Open has appeared in the club name since the early years. Our club is family orientated and caters for archers of all ages and abilities. We actively welcome archers with disabilities and both our ranges are fully accessible. We also have a thriving junior mini-club, the WOAC Colts.

Progression

There are currently 7 qualified level 1 coaches with more in training, three level 2 coaches and a county level coach in training. We have dedicated coaching sessions each week and we are coaching principles from the ArcheryGB technical framework. Several club members represent the Northamptonshire County squad in competitions. So if you are a social archer, interested in competing, want to improve your classification or want to take it more seriously with formal competitions we can help.

Beginner Course

We are affiliated with ArcheryGB, the governing body for Archery in the UK and our Beginners Course follows ArcheryGB principles & guidelines. Successful completion of our course will confirm your proficiency to shoot safely and will enable you to join any UK Archery Club.
